Blood Pressure in Children & Teens
In younger individuals, blood pressure is assessed using percentile charts based on age, height, and gender. The following are approximate averages:
| Age Group | Average Systolic | Average Diastolic |
|---|---|---|
| 1â3 years | 80â110 mmHg | 50â70 mmHg |
| 4â6 years | 85â115 mmHg | 55â75 mmHg |
| 7â10 years | 90â120 mmHg | 60â80 mmHg |
| 11â13 years | 95â125 mmHg | 60â80 mmHg |
| 14â18 years | 100â135 mmHg | 65â85 mmHg |
A reading is considered high in children if itâs at or above the 95th percentile for their age, height, and sex.
